A Bhutanese refugee resettled in Buffalo of New York City, USA committed suicide by hanging herself while her spouse and three children were out shopping.
Nirmala Niraula, 35, was found dead in the basement of apartment 538 at the Seventh Street, Buffalo City at 9 pm, Saturday.
According to Bhutan News Service (BNS), which is a new agency of Bhutanese refugee journalists, the Niraula family had reached Buffalo City under the ongoing third country resettlement programme from Jhapa-based Bhutanese refugee camp, Beldangi-I, sector D-3, in June this year.
The city saw the first suicide of a resettled Bhutanese, Dhan Maya Gurung, on August 27 just a week after her arrival from Sanischare camp of Morang district.
The reasons behind both the suicide cases are not known, wrote the online portal of BNS. HamiBhutani.com
