Two refugee students were caught red-handed while they were writing the SLC Examination in the name of other candidates from Tri-Ratna Secondary School,the only SLC Examination centre for Bhutanese Refugees student in Beldangi camp.
As per the report Pralad Subba was writing the exam in favour of Sagar Suji and Taranath Ghimirey was substuting Tilak Subba. All four students are from Beldangi-II Ext. Camp however only two accused were arrested by the police.
This year altogether 1330 refugees students from all camps were registered to write the exam.14 students did not appeared the examination as they went for third country re-settlement,said CARITAS Nepal, the organization that looks after the Bhutanese Refugees Education Programme in Nepal.
According to the report SLC examination first started in the camp in 1992 and so far around tewnty thousand Bhutanese refugees have written this test and at least twelve thousand were passed.
SLC, which is considered the gateway for further education in Nepal, is also dreaded by many who call it the "Iron gate" due to very high percentage of failure in it.
